As a Youth Worker, you’ll play a vital role in mentoring, supporting, and guiding young people, helping them build confidence, learn essential life skills, and engage with their community. From running interactive workshops and activities to providing one-on-one support, you’ll create a space where young people feel valued, heard, and empowered.

Main Responsibilities
Champz Youth Club launched in April 2024 with a dedicated team of six volunteers. Since then, Champz Youth Zone has become a vibrant and welcoming space, providing up to 30 young people each Thursday with the opportunity to play sports, enjoy a meal, and unwind in a supportive environment.
As our new Freelance Youth Worker, you’ll join a passionate team of volunteers committed to enhancing and expanding this vital service. Your role will be instrumental in developing new initiatives, strengthening youth engagement, and ensuring that every young person who walks through our doors feels valued and empowered.
- You must be over the age of 21
- You must be fun, engaging, approachable and willing to go above and beyond to support young people
- Plan and lead engaging youth club sessions every Thursday from 5–7 PM, creating a fun and supportive environment for young people.
- Source and manage resources to ensure a well-equipped and dynamic youth club experience.
- Experienced in working with young people with SEND, creating inclusive, supportive, and accessible environments that empower all individuals to thrive.
- Build meaningful relationships with young people, encouraging their personal growth and development.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers, providing updates and support as needed.
- Develop Social Media Content
- Pay dependent on experience
- Employed as a freelance youth worker
- Undertake enhanced DBS check
- Hours - 16:30-19:30 every Thursday during term time plus an additional 2 hours preparation during the week.
- Location - The Phoenix Leisure centre, Roundshaw, Wallington, SM69NZ
